A slightly disappointing issue, what with relatively few articles of interest. I'm also not liking the change of direction the magazine seems to be taking - very bloggy with the Retro Radar section. Also, what's happening with the homebrew section? Is that an Xbox360 game in there? And don't get me started on the Retro Rated section, which has about 8 pages of Xbox360, Wii, PS3, and iphone - are these machines even retro?????? What the hell is going on with this, once great, magazine?

Very vocal as usual, Duffman, but I would wait a couple of months for a final verdict on the magazine as the publication is still in its metamorphism stage. The next gen console games are featured in the Retro Rated section because the game's descendents started on a retro machine.

Let's hope that it's an improvement on the last issue... ;)

Just had a quick flick through it and it does seem great. The Archimedes Retroinspection and the look back at Elite have already stood out.
I got meself a lovely gaming Lair filled with Retro Treasures, Cabaret memorabilia and SMSs. Old issues of Retroaction lie around the place.

Yeah, I enjoyed this issue. I even liked the community feature "Let's All Play" despite my reservations of such a feature, and coverage of a game like Castle of Illusion. The ZX Shed feature was odd - the WoS forum users themselves (Lee Fogerty included) don't know what's going on. Is it coming back or not? A big secret, it seems.

OK, i'll admit that it was... alright. even if there were the odd mistake here and there ;)

Let's All Play? That's like one of the features we pitched for Retroaction back in 2008. What happened to that idea?

Looking through RG's homebrew section... Nice review of R0x there, along with Gommy: Midievel Defender and Nanako in Classic Japanese Monster Castle. If they think that Nanako game is verging on hentai, then they clearly haven't seen Bianax 2. :)

But actually, this statement is referring to the loading/title screen of the game, which shows a bare bottom of Nanako... and that's it. Seriously, I've seen worse back in the day on commercial games - Stormlord anyone? And RG didn't moan about that when they covered that game in a RetroRevival article. In fact, they stated this as a main reason to play the game. Sheesh. I imagine RG won't be covering Biniax 2? All the better for us then, because underneath the visuals, it's actually a very good puzzle game.

Nice to see James from RGCD in the Homebrew Heroes page, talking about R0x and RGCD. ZX Shed magazine last issue, and RGCD this issue, Retroaction next issue? It will be criminal it this is not the case.

Other highlights include the Spy Hunter cover feature, The Oliver Twins, and... erm, that's about it. And I never read the Mobile games section, but I noticed Tiger Woods 09 on iPhone... in a Retro Rated section??? I just can't...... Words fail me.
