Forum attacked

Postby Nreive on Tue Feb 09, 2010 1:15 pm

It appears that the forum has recently been attacked by some sort of malware/trojan virus, which redirects to a different site. This appears to be the work of spam users who have been registering in the past week. Hopefully, with the update in the forum software, and the recent clampdown on new users permissions, this should be OK now. However, if it's not do let me know.

I know in January there were a lot of spammers signing up. I deleted their posts and banned them whenever I saw them though they probably already had their "software" installed or however that stuff works.

I don't know exactly how it works - not into that kinda stuff - but things seem better now. Oh, and members of the Retroaction staff will probably have noticed that they have been added to the Team Member group. This allows you access to the moderator control panel where you can check out any posts that are awaiting approval. New users will always end up with their posts here, where as established users do not need their posts approved. Feel free to check this out and use as appropriate.
